SAR certified as a Siemens "System Partner Specialist".
The number of Siemens Partners that have received this award is limited to 40 companies worldwide. Only those companies with a comprehensive and well-grounded process knowledge in the fields of process, energy management and environmental technology receive this certification. Process control lies at the heart of any modern industrial plant and it is responsible for the automatic control, regulation and monitoring of diverse processes within such a plant. Important objectives here are high levels of plant availability, and efficiency, through the optimal use of implemented resources. This information head-start is then utilised in new applications and solutions. Nine projects, using the Siemens PCS7 process control system, have been completed successfully by the Environmental Technology department in the past three years . Two examples: The control systems for one of the largest biomass power stations in Europe were delivered to RWE Power in Berlin. The scope of delivery included the pre-consultation, the engineering and the commissioning of the facility. This biomass power station produces 300 000 MWh of district heating and 160 000 MWh electricity for the city of Berlin from 200 000 tons of wood annually. The complete electrical and control systems for a gas and steam power station were delivered to the Palm paper factory, which is situated in the Lower Franconian city of Eltmann in Bavaria. In this highly efficient electricity generating process a gas turbine is brought into operation through the heat recovery boiler of a steam turbine. Through this combination an overall efficiency of up to 60% is achieved by the system. The Palm paper factory is now able to cover its own steam and electricity requirements through this modern technology. The equipping of industrial plants with electrical and control systems forms part of the SAR business spectrum. This includes the delivery and installation of all components such as medium voltage systems, low voltage main distributors, load distributors, UPS and emergency power systems, boiler protection controls, measurement technology and process control systems.
