Strong order book in the photovoltaics field |
After the plants in Aurach (Germany),
Sun-TV (South Africa)
and Gainsville (USA),
SAR is strengthening its endeavours in the area of photovoltaics further.
PV in Novi Ligure / Fossati close to Milan
Together with our partner Terrafix (Frame and anchoring systems) and under the auspices of SunPower Corporation, we are currently busy constructing two PV plants
in the vicinity of Novi Ligure / Fossati, close to Milan (Italy). Together these two plants will deliver approx. 7MWp.
Further, a framework was signed with SunPower - one of the leading companies in the solar industry, worldwide - outlining a number of PV plants in the year 2011.
High security standard with perimeter control
To cater for the increased security requirements, advanced technology for area surveillance was installed.
Fence detection systems, Cameras with day / night vision capabilities (live and recorded material also available via remote access),
access control with touch-less transponder tags all with uninterruptible power supplies, enable a securing and monitoring around the clock.
SAR builds the first roof mounted system in Italy
As a direct result of our involvements in Italy, a contract could be signed with a private in vestor in Conegliano, Italy.
The contract comprises planning, delivery and assembly of a 60kW roof mounted system. The completion is still planed for this year (2010).
PV for Coca Cola in South Africa
With the first factory constructed directly by Coca Cola in South Africa (not as franchise), the company is looking to achieving a Gold Star rating on the energy balance of the complete plant.
To help achieve this SAR will construct a 30kWp PV system as part of the power supply. This is happening in co-operation with Lapp South Africa,
the local representatives of IBC Solar and is the first of three such fields that should be constructed here.
Due to the long standing relationship between Lapp and SAR in South Africa, SAR was chosen as the complete partner for IBC / Lapp.
With this system, the first step in the direction of renewable energies for Coca Cola is done and SAR is proud to be part of this step.
PV for Itron in the USA
SAR USA has also received a new contract. A 55kWp solar system for Itron in West Union, South Carolina, USA.
Itron is perceived to be the largest supplier of measuring instruments and technologies globally.
This system will be constructed on an unused factory area and connected to the public grid.
The envisaged power produced should be enough for seven average US homes and reduce CO2 emissions by 58 tonnes per year.
